I can hook my fingers over the handle. I never grip anyway because of the constellation of neural symptoms that falls roughly under the CTS description. Just have to get the swelling down. I do have knuckles now, at least in the morning. What i need is one of those hook prosthetics that disabled postal carriers used. Bale hook and duct tape?

30 minutes UT 7K

Jack, let's commit to next Saturday (the one after this one) by hook or crook if you can get healthy. You have a legit reason. I am just chicken. I want to take another crack at the 4 x 1K to see if I can improve from last time. Last cycle I didn't finish the last segment in one go and that bothers me. Otherwise I feel good about the progress and will take what it is. Let's face it, it is called a PERSONAL best.

Hey, I'm good with that, Glenn. I figure everyone can do the one with the pain when they want. I don't have the make or break sub-7 goal but nonetheless spooked by the fine points of hanging on to 2k. I've decided to use the 800-600-400-200 distance waterfall suggested by Doug Lawson. Have to pick an av. pace for 40% and kill myself staying negative over the shorter and shorter checkpoints.

It will feel super good to do a great 2K after all that hard work. And WTF it doesn't hurt any worse than those workouts we have been doing. Just negative split the crap out of it and blast the last bit and you will feel like a champ regardless of the final time (at least that is what I am telling myself) just like on those workouts.

I am totally worn off due to work stress but was able to make a few meters UT2 and AT today on an empty fuel cell. My inquiries for a gym c2 didn´t go very well and my dad made a snaphot decision and ordered one. So no hurry, I can do training and the 2k anytime, even in the holidays at my parents. Aren´t dads (as well as wifes who tell us to watch the O2/CO2-levels in c2-environments) the best?!

Very funny Hardy.

I had another manic Wednesday. This morning did a 1000 and a 600 @ 1:46 even. This afternoon did a 1250 @ 1:44.1 and then 4 x 250 with under 1' rest @ 1:35's. Lots of warming up and down for each plus a light jog this morning.

That 1250 bodes well for a strong 2k; was there a sprint at the end or did you more or less even pace it after the start?

Even paced but I had a fast start for 20 strokes. I'm going to rest today, something short tomorrow, and then try a mile on Saturday and see if I can hold 1:44 for that. Or just do a damn 2K and pace it for 7:02 - 7:03, which is where I think I'm at.

Magnus, correct me if wrong but I'm guessing that's a 2k tuneup? Is that a never again 2k or is it the case that we haven't seen what you can do? Jack
