Just thought it would serve as a marker for your upcoming win in England.
" In the 1st week of October, ranger's 500 speed was....." and all that

Doing a decent 500 does not even qualify as "racing training" in anyone's dictionary....

For my part, I'm not interested that it be "at weight". I'd just be interested in your top speed... as usual.
Funny that you've never honored anyone's request like this.
I care too much about my training to abandon it for no reason.

I am sure that you understand.
I'm sorry "Dave", I can't do that. :|
I do not understand. [Bot]

"no reason" does not compute: The reason is : I asked nicely:
"What speed are you currently sharpening at for an interrupted 500m?"

To say what that is is most assuredly not "abandoning training".
A reply like yours hints of being a troll-[Bot]....

Then, how about this:

In quality, the 70min I just did on my bike, after 20K of similar work OTErg, is much better than what you did for only 18min in your 5K trial.

In quantity, the work I have done today is already about seven times the work you did in your 5K.

140min with my HR in and around 155 bpm?

And in a hour or so, I'll be out OTW for 15K, too, working most of another 70min with a similar intensity.

Training is coming along nicely.

Maybe this will help:

Because I am training and racing at a level _waaay_ beyond what you are doing at the moment, if you want to get better, you should try what I am doing, not the other way around.

"Have to do"?
You don't get it.
I am only doing what my coach tells to me do.
I am not doing anything you want me to do.
And, heck, I don't _have to_ do anything.
I am just in this sport because I like it and because I'm good at it.
Sport is a leisure activity.
In your leisure activities, you can do what you want.
That's what's nice about them.
They aren't a chore.
They're fun.ranger

Translation, there is not a change in hell I can do anything "my coach" is telling, so I just talk a lot and run away from anything that could tell the truth.

You will not row at Birc, you don,t dare

What level of racing do you think is "way better" than Mike's? OTE he's the current hammer holder (World Champ) in your division, having won the title at an event you (predictably) failed to show up for. OTW he's a multiple Master's National champ and current holder in your division. As a genuine OTW LW, I might add, which you are nowhere near capable of achieving as it's five pounds less than the erg standard. Sorry, his current resume is way better than yours. Or would be, if you actually had results instead of a fervid imagination.

Show us this level... ranger-[Bot] ...
If you don't ... you aren't doing what you are saying... in my book.
You have a HR monitor now... Show what you're doing.... This is a training forum... not a "hype" forum.

(BTW: I am not invested in compliance on your part... It's just a simple friendly request... which you have never honored....

My feeling is you just don't care about others... (sniff :(

Hey Rich, guess what, BIRC 2010 IS approaching.

What are you waiting for?

A daily 5k at 1:42/17:00 is only, by the way, training!

That is 27:04 mph (43.51 Km/h) against the standard of 19.72 mph (31.74 Km/h)
and, I think I have to give that a DOUBLE WOW. If you've ever actually done a 25 mile TT you know what I'm talking about. That is an amazing feat.

Yes.

As I mentioned, as BIRC 2010 approaches, I will want to be doing daily 5Ks at 1:42/17:00.
You will want to be doing them, sure, but you will be unable to do them. It takes you most of the season just to work up to holding that pace for 2K.
In the fall of 2003, as BIRC 2003 approached, I did daily 5Ks at 17:30/1:45, as a warm up for other things.
So you say. No more evidence provided than for Reid Fraud's dubious claims.

In any case, a quick glance at a calendar reveals that 7 years have passed, and a quick glance at your results reveals that you can no longer match your 2003 form, or even come close.

Tell the truth?

What is "the truth"?

Racing?

I am telling you all about my training.

I am just not telling you about my racing.

Why?

I am not racing.

I am training.

Racing is not true; training, false.

They are just different.

Training is preparation for racing.

Training isn't the racing itself.

Truth is:

Those who race their training just get worse and worse--like Mike.

Yea.

I row 1:48 pace with a HR of about 150 bpm, too (albeit at 22-24 spm rather than 28 spm).

no, you don't, rangerboy. Never have, never will. You are a lying sack of crap.

oh, and your upcoming abysmal performance - or no show - at the HOG will confirm your worst fears - you can't row OTW.
