I have only had it twice, but it was due to rowing for far too long in an air conditioned gym in November as the air con was pulling in cold air from outside. It was horrible as it felt like my lungs weren't working properly. An asthma inhaler before I started and once more halfway through seemed to help.

I'm always late on the congrats, but Lance, that's a huge improvement. Awesome stuff. Congrats!

@ Paul - A couple of years ago, I missed my PB by .3 or so. I'd rather be on the .3 or .4 side of breaking a PB than the other way around. Nice work! A personal best is still just that. Congrats!

Congrats on the PR -- never easy

I had thought I was the only one who suffers from the erg cough. I tend to treat it by doing most of my erging outdoors on my balcony (less dry than indoors and I can spit the phlegm I regurgitate over the railing). I also have a big water bottle which I spike with lemon juice and drink voraciously from whenever I get a break. The lemon juice cuts through the mucus. If I have to be indoors, I make sure I have a towel or two to spit into.

I tend to get it whenever I go really hard on anything from 1k to 5k. (The last 1k of a hard 5k can be really annoying).

I’m currently doing 1k training, but had time for a TT today. Ended up with a new 4 minute wr for age class 40-49 on the skierg. 30m better than my previous record. The plan was only to just cross 1300m, but with 1min left I felt very good and went for a proper sprint to the finish line.

Great stuff, would be 6.10 or below on a 2k. With the open record not being below 6.00 atm. Congrats fir the, I don,t know manied, :wink: time.

5k 16:51.4 Ave/ 1:41.1
My heart rate went up to 203 bpm at the end.
I'm loosely following The Pete Plan, currently at week 16.
Male 57yrs. 6'1" 88kg.[u[/u] Left Hip Resurfaced June 2024.
