My stroke ends about six inches above the HR transmitter around the SC joint.
There is quite a big difference in stroke ending height, as Sam Blythe is more or less at throat level, and I've seen lots like you with it being higher up.

I don't think there's a right or wrong as it's just preference but, like everything else, I might be wrong.

I don't know whether you've noticed that, in extreme cases of 'high pull', it looks as if the rower is gently caressing the end of a cucumber. Unsettling on more than one level.

From what I've read, one issue with very high handle finish positions is the angle of your wrists. Ideally you want to keep them in line with your forearm and have the whole thing loaded axially (to prevent damage by applying significant loads to a bent wrist) but I can see how the quest for ever longer stroke lengths would be an incentive for a higher finish.

Hi Glenn. I tried this tonight and I got either no reading at all or an entirely inaccurate one. However, I'll give it another go tomorrow, with slightly different positioning, and see how I get on. Many thanks.
I havent had any issues with wearing it on my back, its no especially tight, i have lost quite a bit of 'soft muscle' so not sure if thats a factor, id try moistening the electrodes before putting it on.
Age 61, on 2/01/22 I rowed 115,972m 11hrs 17m 57s and raised £19k for https://www.havenshospices.org.uk/ Thanks for all the support
