I must be in bad shape this was not easy ,Could not keep same pace as 500 m interval last week
750s are so much tougher than 500s today I'm not surprised. I had a 4x750 session this week and failed part way through the 3rd!

Short intervals like this are quite affected by the alactate contribution. I forget the details but if, say, alactate takes care of about 30 strokes, then only about 250m of the 500m interval is hard work. On the same basis, 500m of the 750m is hard so a set of 750s is twice as challenging as 500s.

Not very scientific, but hopefully gives some insight into why you found it hard.

As Max said, 750s are notably harder than 500s, despite only being 250m further. We wouldn't expect you to maintain the same pace, so don't think you're struggling when you shouldn't be.

I find shortish intervals like 3-5 x 4-6 minutes are best done after a little warm-up and then at increasing rating. I do these after any stops longer than a week, to get the feel of rowing again by using a full stroke: since such intervals are short and not necessarily high rating, I can pull a little closer to maximum force and length.

Then an excel log with macros and a Watts/Rating column tells me if I actually did that.

In progressive training plans this work would be suggested as AT, so at ratings 23-28, full stroke.

Splits
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
26:40.5 5,500m 2:25.5 114 691 23 130
5:21.6 1,100m 2:26.1 112 685 23 118
5:19.1 2,200m 2:25.0 115 694 23 129
5:23.0 3,300m 2:26.8 111 680 24 131
5:23.9 4,400m 2:27.2 110 677 23 132
5:12.9 5,500m 2:22.2 122 718 24 141

5500 m much easier than those 750m intervals / Pete's plan
Thanks for all the advice
