Pretty much agreed. I couldn't row that far in 30 minutes after my 2k PB (I can hardly row that far now) so I've no doubt whatsoever you'll not only go sub-7, but quite possibly go sub 6:55 as well.

Welcome @cubaboy! Glad you came in. Like the others have said .... keep posting, keep reading. You will learn as you go. Good erging form is similar to the form used for a Clean, so it should feel somewhat familiar.

@RayofSunshine ... Welcome back! Looks like you are already making improvements. Thanks for the giggle about rowing with your eyes closed - I have done that too (sometimes to row for feel and sometimes in pure agony).

@mdpfirrman ... looks like we both started a new cycle today. Your session looks very strong.

I am on the full PP, Cycle 4/Week 1. 8X500 on 3:30RI.
Last cycle's average was 1:59.7. Felt like I had a lot left in the tank for these today (Last rep @ 1:55.5). A good sign!

Todays work:
Time Meters Pace S/M
15:51.0 4,000m 1:58.8 29

On a separate note, does anyone else have issues uploading attachments here? I get an error message more often than not, no matter how small I make them. Could post one yesterday, but not today. I can also post them in other C2 forums with a LOT less pages in their forum. I looked in the FAQs but found nothing. Thoughts? :?:

Impressive! What movie were you watching? I can't seem to follow dialogue and plots real well when rowing. I've given up and just listen to music.
Thanks mitchel674. I was watching "La La Land' so it was more of a musical than a story with a deep or twisting plot. I could get the jist of the movie without hearing them talk a whole lot. I have also watched "Chicago", "The Music Man" and a couple other musicals on longer rows, but I am with you, I listen to music the majority of the time.

Thank you, jackarabit. Appreciate the attention and the prompt and helpful response for getting images on the forum. Also, thank you for the compliment on the rowing. The PP seems to be working for me so far.

@ RowerGal - that's a solid 8 X 500! I'd like to see each rep (but since Jack posted how to take a pic, that's great. Thanks Jack!).

@ Piers - Cheers! Good to see you Pieman! Thanks for the compliment! I'm feeling strong right now, fingers crossed for a PB at 53!

@ Dreadfish - 2:02.5 is a fast longer row. I can't tell you what to do but it seems like you're going really fast, to me, on your longer rows. It will feel like a slog when you're going too fast. Perhaps back it down a notch or so? Just a thought. I'm not as familiar with the BPP as I am the full PP, but it's very, very long. More of a marathon. If you're doing 2:02 now, you're going to hit a wall soon. The plan wants you to start relatively slow and build up gradually. 2:02 would be a challenging pace for me to hold for around 6.5K. My sense is you're just beating your previous numbers and you might have started out way too fast to begin with. According to your signature, you set a PB on the 6K on your last row of 6.5K. Why would you be setting a PB on a SS row? Maybe I'm reading it wrong?

A picture speaks a 1000 words. Really strong row. Great Watt output for someone 145 lbs! Really solid negative splits!

That looks strong! I'm doing this same session tonight as part of the BPP. We're the same age, but you've got me beat! :oops:

Thanks mdpfirrman and mitchel674. I started conservatively because I had done a longer SS row the day before (14K+ meters) and was doing a gut check before I pulled the trigger on the rest of the intervals.

Good luck with this session today, mitchel674. Will watch to see your outcome.

@rowergal
nice acceleration on the last 500s. I also try to work with negative splits in my intervals - keeps me motivated
@mike
impressive negative split too. Well planned!
@David
Outstanding!

Did the pyramid today:
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
14:35.3 4,000m 1:49.4 267 1218 29 160

0:51.0 250m 1:42.0 330 1433 32 143
1:50.7 500m 1:50.7 258 1187 29 161
2:47.0 750m 1:51.3 254 1172 27
3:44.4 1,000m 1:52.2 248 1152 27 163
2:46.4 750m 1:50.9 256 1181 28 165
1:46.8 500m 1:46.8 287 1287 29 166
0:48.9 250m 1:37.8 374 1586 34 162

Is there anybody who will be in Starnberg on February 17th?
Best regards,

Dietmar

@mdpfirrmann
Yeah I agree. I've been thinking about backing it down a bit. At least in till my fitness gets a fair bit better. I keep telling myself to back it down then start watching the t.v. in front of the erg and next min I'm back into low 2s.
Also finding it hard to maintain a set cadence. Mine tends to fluctuate between about 1:55 and 2:10. I need to work on this I think.
My pbs are currently just times as I do a distance. I haven't gone out specifically to do a pb as such.

Feeling a bit tired after this weekend but still attempted the 8 x 500m r2 of the BPP this week after work today. My goal was to beat the 1:59 average from several weeks ago. I wound up with a 1:57 average and a new PB at 1:52.1. No negative splitting here as my best time was my fourth interval. Times went downhill from there.
