I PB'd the 2k yesterday during BIRC: 6:49,3, 2,8 sec less than my previous one.
I was aiming for something better, but had a tremendous flu, and am quite happy with the time.
In stead of the planned slightly negative splitting, I managed an almost even splitting of 1:42,3; 1:42,2; ,:142,6 and 1:42,3
I hope to do sub 6:40 further in this season

Congratulations!
A great time! Good luck with breaking 6:40.

18:00,9 for the 5k.
Still slower split than my 6k, but a PB is a PB...

I'll bet that 0.9 left you less than happy.

Didn't really care (up to now
![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
), as I really wasn't up for a PB.
As I was in a hurry (that's why I was rowing fast), I just started without warmup

Haven't decided for sure but the suffering may have been worth it. 5k in 17:25.5.

Today was my 3rd PB in 10 days. Its not really that impressive since these last 2.5 months is the most consistant erging I've done in 10 years. Still I'm happy with the progress. (these are really seasons best since I was much faster 10 years ago)
Today I set my monitor for a 25K row. I was hoping to do it at 2:00 pace. But I felt bad and was struggling from the begining. My butt hurt so much I stopped at 5K--normally it never bothers me. I was rowing with the feet out and that seemed to make my butt worse. I decided to do a 2K test to salvage the workout. Checked the drag factor and realized it was at 129--too big for me. Adjusted it down to 116 and did another 2.5K warmup with some power tens, then the 2K for a PB
2K : 7:11.1
1:47.7 31 s/m
1:47.6 30
1:47.8 30
1:48.1 32
It was very cold. Finished with a layer of frost on my shirt, which may explain the high drag factor. I think I can knock 2-3 seconds off without too much trouble.
Last Thursday did a 10K 31 seconds faster then my previous best:
38:49.9 for an average of 1:56.5
2K splits:
1:57.3 25 s/m
1:57.2 25
1:56.8 25
1:56.3 25
1:54.7 27
ten days ago knocked 37 seconds off my HM time (only my second HM)
HM 1:23:34.0 1:58.8ave DF=108
4000m splits:
1:59.2 24 s/m
1:58.9 25
1:59.3 24
1:58.9 24
1:58.4 25 + last 1097m: 1:56.1 27
Up to 137.5K for the HC. Still might make 200K if I don't row on the water this weekend.

Tried my first 2k time trial, hit it in 7:30.5. Probably went out a bit too fast, but good learning experience

New PB for the hour - 15,223M / 1:58.2. Wasn't my intention to go for a PB. Just felt good in the second half so I picked it up.

40:53.6
Negative splits; I'm finally feeling good about rowing so today was really a workout, not a definitive shot at a pr; I'm sure I could go faster.
As a former reasonably competitive age group runner, I think what I like about rowing is that while I'll never come close again to my pr's in running (torn ACL, meniscus surgery, lack of motivation, and a few extra pounds), for now, I'm seeing definitive improvement in my erging.

Yesterday I rode my bike to work when it was only 21 deg F. My previous pb was 25.
