Did you already schedule a next FM PB-try?
This becomes spontaneous. Can be this week or even next year. Depending on how I feel.

More there...
Congrats on grate row. Nice flat pacing and stroke rate!
Cheers ;)

Well done Nico, you're smashing it lately...PBd myself today over 60mins although rather more modestly! That said, I've struggled mentally lately so am very relieved to break through 15800m finally, which I knew I could do despite that little voice in my head telling me to stop > 10000m at times which I gave into a bit as the splits show but it was partly tactical :) . Logged and verified, 130pm start, strong coffee 40mins before, immediately felt good (there's a pattern developing here).

Thanks all. Well, you break one PB and then two more come along in quick succession. Out of the 60min, 10K and HM ones, I feel most pleased about them in that order i.e. the 60min one has been a struggle for me lately, whereas the 10K was possibly due for an update even though my form of late hasn't been quite as good, and the HM was a good effort but only my second so undoubtedly more there. Felt great from the word go - I was actually in two minds after 2-3K whether to just do 5K and put the accelerator down as was holding 151s quite comfortably but decided to do a solid 10K piece instead, and knowing as time went on, that a new PB was distinctly possible. I slowed a bit in the middle thinking I might blow up but with hindsight don't think I should've backed down as much as I had a fair bit left towards the end. Anyway, I trimmed 4.6s off my old PB:

Next step in rather ambitieus plan, if (after this heavy time trail) I may say so.
I did the 2k in 6:25.1 with following 500m: 1:36.4, 1:37:00, 1:36.7, 1:35.0.
The only way to survive the last 500m was to increase stroke rate and as a demolishing side affect I went even faster.

Yes, previous PB was 6:35.2 from August this year.
Next target 6:21 in April 2017 seems to be very far away....not in time I mean.

Very nice, you begin to climb the 50 plus ladder very nicely. Keep doing what you do.

Not quite a personal best yet, but I have high hopes.

I did 6 x 500m, 1 minute rest yesterday to gauge my projected 2k pace, and averaged 1:34.3, which should put my 2k at sub-6:20 (of course I can't be totally sure about that until I actually pull one).

I'm particularly excited about this as the last 2k I pulled on the erg, my previous personal best, was a 6:20.1, in my senior year of college, in 2009. Also I had no idea I'd do that well yesterday, I haven't done any speed workouts in over a year. I'm seriously considering signing up for a 2k event in late January, especially after this.

Nice excitement. Let us know if it has been a good prediction!

Don't get to post PR's much, new skierg half marathon PR of 1:54:45. Beat my old PR by 1:01 and spent at the end. Being a lightweight, the HM time is mediocre but was an honest effort on this end :D . Good way to start 2017!

HM on a ski erg sounds hideous! Nice effort. Sjors, really nice 6:25.
