Thanks Rohan - it is all going well. The IP Is basically a 24 week plan with 4 to 8 sessions a week and adjusts for athlete level as well - I chose 6.Bloodbuzz Corio wrote:I've not looked at the IP in detail but is it all build up from here to Boston or are there any easier weeks?
Nice work from Terry also!
I had 24 weeks from start Aug1 to end Jan31 so started at week one. (I dropped the PP in the middle though to provide a different angle).

It cycles through light medium and hard weeks and removes one or 2 designated sessions if you are dropping some. If you have less than 24 weeks to race then it removes weeks in a logical predetermined way. The sessions then evolve as you get closer to the day to include more TR and AN shorter stuff and less SS longer ones and there is a bit more variety than PP. It made more sense to me than more PP after the 3 cycles that I did - although I think the PP was really valuable at the time I did it.
There is also discussion about length of rests in the intervals which they suggest change as you get closer to the race (increase rests). Some of the training zone recommendations seem very ambitious esp at UT1 for me (and maybe at the TR and AN for others I suspect). There are also stroke rate suggestions as well a bit like Pete though includes a few long SS sr18 sessions as well.
