Shortly after doing my 2k I realized that I wasn't doing enough volume to complete the Great Lakes challenge so I upped the volume, doing 145k/week. That lasted all of 1 day. I decided to give up on that challenge and dropped my training volume to about 70k/week. My plan is similar to the one that I linked to earlier in the thread but I made it a 10 week cycle with 3x3week cycles and a final week with reduced volume, no intervals, but doing the 2k.
MWF: 15k UT2
T: Short intervals (8x500; 250, 500, 750, 1000, 750, 500, 250; 4x1000) taken directly from the Pete Plan
Th: Long intervals (5x1500; 4x2000; 3000, 2500, 2000) taken directly from the Pete Plan
Sa: 10k UT1
Su: Rest
I stopped taking my depression medication and my adderall about 2 weeks ago and it's been rough. I quit mid-workout on 3 of the days this week and I've been feeling tired and irritable. I started taking the adderall again today so I've got my fingers crossed that I'll follow through. My goal is to break 7:15 at the end of this 10-week plan. I'll start another cycle immediately. I'm hoping to break 7 minutes after 3 cycles (30 weeks). My current 2k is 7:30.
Good luck to all of you working on this goal! I'm excited (until I'm on the erg...) about doing this.
