After a day off, I came back with the classic L1 session 8X500 w/500 paddle rest.
1:42.3r33, 1:42.1r32, 1:42.1r33, 1:42.1r33, 1:42.1r33, 1:41.7r34, 1:42.1r33, 1:41.9r33
All in all a good steady pace and rate.

The interview went well. I expect to receive an offer and hopefully move to High Point, NC area.

L3 today, 60' 1:56ave df 120 sr 24. Felt good to just row at a steady rate for an hour. This workout was similar to the workouts I did last year when I was setting PBs. Hour to an hour and a half rows at a good steady pace work real well for me.

The L4 sessions are really helping me stroke at lower rates with more power. I used to go for an hour at a 28 spm and pull about 1:55, now I can do it at 24 to 25 spm.

L1 2k time trial: 6:41.7 df 125
1:40.7r35
1:40.6r35
1:40.6r34
1:39.8r39

At this point in the season I am feeling pretty good with small amount of interval training thus far. Hope to get back into some more L4 sessions this week. The last few days involved a job interview and house hunting, so trying to keep a solid routine was not working.

Bill - very nicely paced & looks like a monster improvement over the SB in your sig. line. Congrats on the SB.

Cheers. Patrick.

Thanks Gents!

2k time trial was a 10.1 second improvement from SB. You have to say the WP had some influence on the improvement in time.

Tomorrow's workout is a L4 session for hopefully 60' @ 18.0 spm using the same 6:43 ref pace which is probably closer to 6:41-2 when I actually add up the numbers.

Top row, certainly given you not so big build. Very well done, pacing seems also good, the last 500 looks tough

Indeed, looks like it's the best 2k from the 40-49 male lightweights so far this season, and it would've been top 15 last year. Very good work!

Thanks HJS and Andy.

The last 350 was very tough. Had I not sprinted in, I would have lost a good second or two.

Today was a planned L4 60', I worked outside in the heat and humidity all day, so when workout time came I was a little on the dehydrated side. Did my best to hydrate but at 40' the sea of sweat was causing the erg machine to sink (Sorry no OTW experience with the erg, and there was tremendous rocking going on). Since I was not the Captain of the ship, the order to abandon ship was announced, and I obeyed the order.

L4 40' 180+5, 178+6, 184+5, 178+3 14257+19 df 116 spm 18.0

New ref pace 6:42 vice 6:43 was used for this workout as well.

I was hitting 2:05 @ 16 spm instead of 2:06 the other rates were spot on. So, I may even drop the ref pace to 6:40 or 41 since the only adjustment at the low end is the 16 spm pace.

L4 60' 178+1, 184+2, 178, 180+1,178+1,180+1 14828+6 df 116 17.97spm ref pace 6:42

Heat and humidity were no factor today, the gym was nice and cool.

2x6k 21:51 sr 28 and 22:40 sr 25 df 116 w/3k paddle in between. Not sure if this counts as a L3 session but it sure was a good workout.

L4 60' 184, 180+1, 178+1, 184+2, 180+1,178+1 14840+6 df115 spm 18.07

I enjoy using the lower drag factor. Not sure if I can drop the df any further. Would there be any benefit?

Tomorrow looks like a L2 session. I haven't tried the 5x1500, so looks like I will give it a go. Pace for this session, I am looking at 2k+6, so roughly 1:46. Not sure on the amount of rest, so right now, I am leaning towards a 1250 paddle as a rest.

Sunday another forced rest day. Travel back to High Point to look for temporary housing until I sell my house here In Jacksonville. I am hoping to buy my first C2 machine since I will be moving away from my military gyms which have many C2s to choose from.
