Nicely done on the 5K! I am envious. Yes I agree, 3:45 seems like nothing. About the length of a commercial break. On the other hand, 1000 Meters seems much more daunting.

The converse is also true, if you want the minutes to go by more quickly, do 30 second "all out" sprints with 60 second active recovery, after just a few reps the rest periods will pass much more quickly than the work periods.
