I’m not sure how relevant this is. But, having started rowing just a month ago. When I started out the natural cadence I fell into was 18. Just through the course of training, getting stronger, getting more fit, my natural cadence has moved to 20, maybe 21. I have spent some time with hard efforts but still only stroke rates of 24, 26, 28. Almost zero time at 30 and beyond. Now that I have some base I will spend more time specifically higher rates and see where it goes.
But fundamentally it’s just going to take some training time in those uncomfortable zones.
How to increase stroke rate without exhausting myself?
