+2. Could start with 2x 500m on 2’. If he likes/tolerates the gradual metabolic loading of quasi-continuous effort, he can make the rests active but very low effort (even legs only) and then add reps or reduce rest. Next step on the adaptation 750m on 2’ rest. These are staples of the short row in the C2 WODs.
