Drag has really nothing to do with it, its putting in the energy to late, even on min drag and high speed you should not hit your chest.Dangerscouse wrote:@Paule23, what df do you use? I get a little bit out of hammering the finish to the point of developing slight bruising.
My theory is that it also reverses the backward momentum of the trunk thus supporting the switch to the recovery. Needless to say that is arms only.
OTW rowers will do on the erg what is optimal for OTW rowing. This may not be optimal for erging though.

Watch the rhythm of the experts.
Use 2 breaths per stroke - out at the catch and release.
1:1 in:out ratio.
