But like i say, next time, i'm going 2-3 seconds faster on the middle stuff than my current 2k 1:56 pace! Because i have obviously gotten fitter since that last 2k i done.

Yeah i know, 2k prediction should be solely based on those ones!!!! But maybe i need to adjust because i done last 750 @ 1:50-1'ish pace. To me, this is clearly indicating i should have given more in the middle stuff earlier.

Cheers, Henry.
Welcome, guys like you who are still in the lucky "honeymoon" erging fase, pacing is a bit difficult, improvements go still fast. My advice for you guys is, learn to feel what you can do, hard sessions don,t need to be 100%, but don,t leave to much on the table, learn to hit it hard, without tipping over. Leave the absolute max sessions for rare occasions. Matter of return on investment, it needs to bring a special result, the impact will be hard.

Sound advice, Henry. I felt i left some on the table in that last one... but at the same time you're right about not needing to be 100%!! It's all about finding that inbetween which just comes from doing it basically!!! Yes these max efforts are going to be rare occasions for me!! i also feel maybe 4:30r for the 1000m interval should be sufficient enough rest for me, and then maybe i will also feel totally drained by the end next time.

I regularly do a 12.5k pyramid and don't leave a lot on the table. I'm usually completely knackered, but at 71, I deserve it.
I selected New Workout from the Custom list, then program in 500, .30 rest, 1,000, 1.00 rest and add 500meters up to 2,500, and add 30 secs each tim up to 2.5mins rest, then back down to 500, deducting 500 each time along with 30 secs. I try and get under 1.55 for the last 500.
It takes about 51.30 rowing time plus the breaks, but you know you've done a workout.
If I'm feeling lazy I do this up to 2,000 then back down to 500.

It's good training. I'm no expert, but I do pull fairly well - The rower's the only thing I am able to pull at my age! :D :D

Yeah! i just done a 2k test so now i know exactly where i need to be on these... and also explains why i felt i had left a bit on the table in that last pyramid session.
