BTW, if someone like NavHaz did his 500s, rowing well (16 SPI) at 35 spm, he'd be pulling them at 1:25.

That would be pretty good, too.

Where did you get that idea? Your ignorance is breathtaking.

Since you always ride in the highest gear, you have not learned how to ride a bike yet. The serious cyclists will understand what I just said.
I don't race anywhere on my bike.

I just cross-train.

No, the gears on a bike are comparable to stroking powers in rowing.

I don't row at one stroking power.

I lighten up for longer rows, but am heavier with sprints.

I do distance rowing at 11 SPI; sprints, at 13 SPI; then racing, at 12 SPI.

If you keep the rate up in the 30s, this includes a large range of paces within a very narrow range of rates.

For distance rowing, 32 spm is 1:40 (11 SPI)

For sprints, 35 spm is 1:31 (13 SPI)

For racing, 35 spm is 1:34 (12 SPI).

I don't expect you to believe anything.

Believe whatever you want.

You don't have anything to do with it.

You're just a spectator.

Watch the show.

The popcorn is hot.

The hot dogs are mustardy.

Enjoy!

I'll either do it or not.

What will it have to do with you?

You can just flip the channel and take in some other show, if you get bored with this one.

Nay-doers and nay-sayers are nobodies.

Once you know how to row well, you know, and therefore you do it every time you pull a handle or slide a seat.
Wrong. Besides you know how to erg fast but you row really badly.
t's like riding a bicycle, or, well, you know what I mean.
Apparently you don't know much about riding a bicycle either.

You don't know anything about how I row now--or will row, as time goes on.

You're talking entirely through your hat.

I don't race my bike, and have no intention of racing my bike.

So what is there to know?

I just use it to work out on--cross-training.

UT2 heart rate.

Two-hour ride.

On the contrary, we do know how you row now. And we know as much as you do about how you will row, as time goes on.

Just 4? I do 8 hours of manual labor every day of the work week. A four hour day is the weekend rest.

The response to the question makes no sense, like something someone who is besotted would write.

Trying to read ranger-blather such as has been posted today is like watching paint dry....

It seems we're in the typical seasonal pattern here:

#1 ranger posts start increasing
#2 they become more and more vapid
#3 ranger moves away from a focus on getting any kind of record
#4 a shift in his goals follows shortly thereafter

This is so dreary! And, all we got for all the blather was a 6:41.0

6.... 4.... 1....(POINT)..... ZERO

3 SECONDS OFF ROY BROOK'S WR...

Now well have to endure 10 years of "How I will beat Brian Bailey's WR by 30 seconds"

what a mind numbing prospect!!!

Image

OF course... there's the threat that TSO will go to BIRC...
We forget though that he claimed he couldn't afford going to Boston... and we all know that flying to England is cheaper (quack!) :P :P

You are right about not needing to know much to do mindless cross training. There are a lot of skills in bike riding well that require a lot of practice.

But it is perfectly OK to not know what you are talking about but only if you aren't talking.
