I didn't, either.

So the ban is just another arbitrary move by the moderators.

My comment is also just a good recommendation.

The truth?

Sorry for being so insulting as to bring up the truth.

The truth is "unwanted"?

Why?

"Actual pieces" are the worst thing to do if you don't know know how to row (e.g., if you pull 7 SPI) and don't take the time to bother to learn.

When you row badly, racing just makes it so that you can't do anything else (but row badly).

Permanent disability not a very good result to get from your training.

Just rowing well for a lightweight (13 SPI), at 24 spm, with a middlin' UT1 HR, 75% HRR, steady state, at 1:44, I would break all of 60s _heavyweight_ WRs from a FM down to 6K.

FM
HM
60min
10K
30min
6K

Oesterling's 60s hwt 5K WR is 1:43.5.

The Viking's 60s lwt hammer 2K at WIRC 2011 was 1:43.

The 60s lwt American 2K WR is 1:44.

Steady state rowing at 75% HRR is 2K + 14.

Have you got that out of your system now dear? All thoses posts in a row? It was the keyboard equvilant of a dam breaking. Now remember you are not allowed to misattribute quotes any more because you get sent to cyberspace's version of the naughty step. It has been very infomative while you have been 'away'. Byron has kept us updated with some of your 'classic' posts and also given us some rather spiffing recipes to boot. We have all had a nice leisurely couple of weeks so begs the question? How are you Richard? Did the complete indifference on your UK blog wound the old ego? Has it made you a teeny weeny bit more humble? Im going to take a wild guess and say no.

The big advance, of course, is this:

24 spm is not low rate rowing (i.e., 16-22 spm), especially if it is done at 75% HRR over long distances.

24 spm is just relaxed distance rowing (UT1, Level 3).

The maximum Level 4 sequence in the WP is a 220 (an average of 22 spm for 10 minutes).

There is no reason at all to row at all rates (LRT, "Learn to Row"), if you are comfortable rowing perfectly at 24 spm.

The purpose of low rate (Level 4, UT2) rowing is to improve your techique and stroking power.

But if you are comfortable rowing perfectly at 24 spm, there is no need to improve.

The best 60s lwts row 1:56 @ 24 spm (9 SPI).

So they could still make _enormous_ gains by working at low rates on technique and stroking power.

They fall short of rowing perfectly by a dozen seconds per 500m.

Naw.

My rowing will command plenty of attention, all by itself.

As soon as I am permitted, I'll just go back to my blog on the UK forum.

I certainly don't like or respect the folks here.

I'll just post here until my ban is lifted elsewhere.

That's a shame because we really love you. I have had an enduring romance with your posts for three years now. You have yet to fulfill any of your promises but never mind im sure you will keep on trying....and failing.

In the meantime, welcome back!

I assume you are still a good-standing member of the 7:00 Plus 2k Club with your 7:02.3 best?

To hell with those sub-7:00 guys!

Hey, this past season, using all of your most recent theories and techniques, you didn't even come within 20 seconds of your times from the previous two seasons! We can hardly wait to see what you accomplish this season

Don't do us any favors, maybe your wife would like to hear your training wisdom! Of course, she probably doesn't like you much by this point, either, even if you both are slow learners

Leaving this forum where people think you're a liar and a welsher, and ban you for intentionally misattributing quotes over and over. Going to the UK forum where people think you're a liar and a welsher, but also think so little of you that they wont even bother corresponding with you, and ban you for even commenting on another blog. Good decision, seems to fit perfectly with most of your decisions.

Looks like Roy's erg training is off and running, collar feeling a little tight? The years of trash talk have shown up on your front doorstep, looking forward to seeing whether you answer the door and fight or hide in your cave and type.
