Perhaps the final PB of this C2 season, as I'm honestly not sure I'm willing to subject myself to the torture of a max-effort full marathon...

500m:

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M
1:19.9	500	1:19.9	686	2661	45
0:16.2	100	1:21.0	659	2566	45
0:15.9	200	1:19.5	697	2697	45
0:15.9	300	1:19.5	697	2697	42
0:15.9	400	1:19.5	697	2697	49
0:16.1	500	1:20.5	671	2609	48
Managed to squeeze under 1:20 by the skin of my teeth as my life was flashing before my eyes the last 10 strokes. I've never considered sprinting to be a strength of mine so am quite pleased with this one.
Really strong result Justin. As I'm not going to be suffering, I also think that you need to do an FM
Agreed, you definitely should address that itch. FM is horrible and the sadist in me wants people to suffer it! Heehee.

I cave easily to peer pressure, on the erg at least... Maybe I'll squeeze the FM in the last week of the season like I did last year!

My feelings about this one are in a quantum superposition of inspiring and depressing: that FM pace is spot-on my 2K PB pace.

But let's take a positive attitude: now my goal is improve my 2K pace so that it's marginally better than your FM pace

Absolutely astonishing. Completely agree with Stu, this is the best PB you’ve posted. The marathon distance is incredibly hard and to do it at that pace takes immense mental strength no matter the ability of the athlete. Very well Done mate!

Thanks, gents, much appreciated. I knew that if I didn't do whatever I could to try and sneak under that 1:50 overall average I'd regret it, so took a bit of a risk in starting my final push pretty early at around the ~12k left mark. Wasn't confident I could get there even then, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take!

As far as "best" PBs, Sascha's heard me say this already on IG, but PBs are like children... each is special in its own way and we're not supposed to pick favorites! I've very intentionally tried to become a more well-rounded (indoor) rower this season so it's been nice to see the work I've put in pay off across the span of distances from the 500m thru to the FM. Don't think I'll be touching the 100m or 1 minute anytime soon -- will leave those to the big boys! :)

Another PB for 10k on the skierg.

Not a great ranking but some of those ranked higher than me will be doing it crossfit-style, rather than something close to on actual skis
