I did have some issues with palpitations years ago. This was investigated and I was given the all clear. I was taking antidepressants at the time. I subsequently stopped taking them and the palpitations ceased. Regarding your other point, yes I can get dizzy if I stand up quickly.iain wrote: ↑July 17th, 2024, 3:54 amDo you (other?) get AHS symptoms of light headedness when getting up and atrial fibrillations? I had emergency incident recently and they were worried when HR 48 as "too low". In a medical a while back (when much fitter than today) the doctor did extra tests following an ECG to confirm that the enlarged heart wasn't a problem and I have heard of people advised to reduce exercise for same symptoms.

Big congratulations, this is an awesome result!Sakly wrote: ↑July 17th, 2024, 7:04 amBack to topic - 6k CTC today with a new PB (not a surprise, as the old one is stone old).
First go beginning of the month I bailed as my legs gave up soon from previous training day, so this time I started much more on the safer side with 1:45 target to get to a sub 21.Unfortunately, it didn't work out to go sub 21, but I could shave off a good bit of my previous PB: - 11.8s.Code: Select all

Great result Sascha. The 6k is a strange distance and not easy to get right.Sakly wrote: ↑July 17th, 2024, 7:04 amBack to topic - 6k CTC today with a new PB (not a surprise, as the old one is stone old).

I think I well matched the max at that day with my strategy to go with 1:45 flat (even if I couldn't get it fully done).
I also think that I am capable of a faster 6k, maybe even 1-2s/500 on a good recovered day. The main thing is actually the very hard training schedule, which leaves me a bit under recovered on muscular side, which blocks the stroke power.
Unfortunately, it won't be possible to have another go, as far as next weeks are planned. Will be off from 26th a week away and upcoming week does not give a proper day, which has potential for a better result

That’s a fantastic time for a 15 year old female. I know fit strong men who’d struggle with that.lucyy7 wrote: ↑July 19th, 2024, 11:46 pmi am 15 yr old girl. started rowing last year and i got the 2k record at my school for junior girls 7.51 2k. is this good do i have potential? we only trained 2x a week on water and no ergo sessions. this year we train 5x a week. can i get my 2k down to 7.35? im hoping to go to the US for rowing. which i need to get below 7.15 atleast in the next 3 years
Definitely potential to go quicker as you seem athletic and tall. Your body is still growing and developing and will naturally get stronger and fitter. Coupling this with dedicated training I see no reason you couldn’t pull a 7:15 2k within a year or so. Need to ensure you don’t overtrain and eat/recover properly. If you have a coach they can advise on this other wise there is lots of information online and certainly on this forum.

All the zone 3 training is paying off. 1hr TT of 15829m today. I even enjoyed the row!! Bodes well for breaking that16000m barrier next time round.

Cereal or porridge with fruit in the mornings. Eggs ham cheese and more fruit for lunch. Rice/pasta with lean meat and veggies for dinner. Always have a boiled egg and chocolate milk after workouts. A couple of cereal bars and yoghurts throughout the days too. I’m maintaining 96kg nicely at the moment so I think I’ve got the balance just right.
The only problem with all zone 3 work is it’s soooo boring. I’m thinking of getting a small tv for the garage so I can watch something while rowing. Too many times I’ve knocked it on the head all through boredom even though I have plenty on the tank.

It can be a mental grind for sure, but I kind of embrace it. Stick some music or a podcast on and break the row down in to segments. The second half always feels like it passes by quicker.
