1' PB, 332m (was 329m).
With that I've improved all my short stuff (<=2K) in the current season and I'm left with the longer TTs (that I vastly prefer) B)
1973, 173cm (5'8"), LW, started rowing Sep 2021 (after 10 years of being a couch potato), c2 log

Thanks Alex, yes, going to give the 6k a solid bash during rowlympics.
Never rowed OtW. Booked a learnt to row course at Peterborough Rowing Club that runs through August. It’s close to home and I work in Peterborough so seems silly not to at least give it a go. I have a feeling I’m going to love it and it will be my next hobby!😊
Nice one, the same course I'd like to do, then. I look forward to hearing about should you choose to share your experience, enjoy!

Another half marathon PB today - 1:37:54.8 (55 second improvement). It wasn't pretty though!

New resting heartrate PB. (Is that a thing!).
Gone down from 48bpm in 2021/22 to 45bpm now. This is after thinking it was kinda fixed for me and was not prone to lowering.
Age 52....Weight 61 Kg....
Row 26 Aug 21 to Mar 22. Cycle Mar 22 to Jun 24. Now mixing the 2.
2K 8.02.3 (23 Oct 21)...7.37.0(15 Mar 22)
5K 22.14 (2 Oct 21)
Resting HR 45 (was 48 in 2021)....Max HR (Seen) 182 [185 cycling]

I think it is a thing! I have a low resting HR, and love putting on my monitor to see how low I can get it. In the past, I've seen 132 on a couple of occasions. Medical professionals always comment on it. If only my erging was similarly impressive

132 isn't really low for a resting HR

Huu, I'm glad you wrote this, otherwise you should have seen a doctor immediately
32 is really low. But some have lower rating heart rates than others for whatever reason. A friend also sees very low resting heart rates below 40 frequently.
My lowest observed was 42, recovered typically around 45 and during my training week more trending to higher 40s. Over the day my standard heart rate at rest (sitting at the desk or whatever) is around 50-55.

Do you (other?) get AHS symptoms of light headedness when getting up and atrial fibrillations? I had emergency incident recently and they were worried when HR 48 as "too low". In a medical a while back (when much fitter than today) the doctor did extra tests following an ECG to confirm that the enlarged heart wasn't a problem and I have heard of people advised to reduce exercise for same symptoms.
56, lightweight in pace and by gravity. Currently training 3-4 times a week after a break to slowly regain the pitiful fitness I achieved a few years ago. Free Spirit, come join us http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/forum/

Back to topic - 6k CTC today with a new PB (not a surprise, as the old one is stone old).
First go beginning of the month I bailed as my legs gave up soon from previous training day, so this time I started much more on the safer side with 1:45 target to get to a sub 21.

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M
21:03.5	6,000m	1:45.2	300	1331	27	171
3:30.4	1,000m	1:45.2	301	1334	28	164
3:30.4	2,000m	1:45.2	301	1334	28	168
3:30.6	3,000m	1:45.3	300	1331	27	171
3:30.0	4,000m	1:45.0	302	1340	28	175
3:31.9	5,000m	1:45.9	294	1312	28	175
3:30.2	6,000m	1:45.1	301	1337	29	175
Unfortunately, it didn't work out to go sub 21, but I could shave off a good bit of my previous PB: - 11.8s.
On a good day sub 21 is definitely in, but I needed to get a result in the books regardless of my feelings about fitness
Not to get me wrong - I'm satisfied with this result :)

Yeah, 5k needs an update too. Goal was sub 17:30 last season, but I had no try at all
Looking at the splits, I was 3.2s away from that target, so it will happen on a good day.
