And 1K PB today:
3:26.9 (down from 3:31.8).
Happy, also because I kind of managed my pace, force once, and my HR at the end was 186 (which is my max AFAIK and I haven't seen it in quite a while).
Code: Select all
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
3:26.9 1,000m 1:43.4 316 1388 32 178
0:51.6 250m 1:43.2 318 1395 34 166

0:51.9 1,000m 1:43.8 313 1377 32 186
Now, I have 2 weeks before a 2 weeks break: the 5K and 10K are looking at me, but today in the garage it was already 29C

After I realized the CTC yesterday would have been a -0.7s 500m PB looking into the stroke data, I went for a random 1min today during gym session warmup
I got a 3m improvement, despite being hit hard by yesterday's training.
Knowing the 500m time from stroke data, I'm tempted to go for a 500 soon

You power keeps getting better - I think you can beat your 500M.

The CTC proved I can, as the first 500 were already faster than my PB
Now I need to rerow the first 500 to get it ranked

Out of the blue 5k pb today. I bought a fenix 7 garmin watch and was trying for an hour to get it to work with pm5 to no avail, couldn’t get on with it at all. All the fuss ruined my warm up so when I started WOD I ended up HD’ing then threw a childish tantrum!
. After I’d calmed down and grew up a bit I decided I wasn’t letting it beat me and just decided to do 5k best effort. 18:03, which takes 17 seconds off previous.
Now to figure out how to send this rubbish watch back!

Not that I think it's useful to connect a garmin watch to the rowerg/skierg, but the single time I tried, it worked fine for me (I have an Instinct 2X, way more humble than a Fenix 7). You can PM me if you want any help/advice on it.
At any rate, even without connecting it, it somehow contributed to improve your PB

I agree mate, loads of people have recommended it for rowing, think it’s me. I’m going to try again tomorrow after reading the instructions!
. I’ve got to get it working because I’m starting on the water in August and I don’t think my old Apple Watch is man enough for it!

Nice work on the 5k, your 6k probably needs revisiting now... Have you rowed OTW before? I'm looking at doing a beginners course next year, couple of clubs and plenty of lakes not too far from me and I would only regret it one day if I don't.

Thanks Alex, yes, going to give the 6k a solid bash during rowlympics.
Never rowed OtW. Booked a learnt to row course at Peterborough Rowing Club that runs through August. It’s close to home and I work in Peterborough so seems silly not to at least give it a go. I have a feeling I’m going to love it and it will be my next hobby!
