As usual I set a new PB for me and thought I had finally caught Greg for at least one duration/distance, only to find he has moved the bar even farther ahead.
I cut my 5k time from 18:28 to 18:13.6 tonight

Cutting more than 14 seconds off a 5K PB is nothing to sneeze at. You're gonna get me this year for sure. My PBs now seem to be near death experiences, complete with the comforting white light at the end of tunnel. You, on the other hand, casually pop out a PB as part of the third training session in 24 hours. You're hard core, dude.

Cut about 54" off my 10k PB today and didn't even go all out because I was full from just eating a HUGE Mothers Day dinner 30 minutes earlier (my original goal was simply to burn off some of the fries and chocolate, but after seeing how fast I was going I decided to push it semi-hard).
Went from 38:31 to 37:37

Another PB today. As I reach my goals and start believing in my ability to do faster paces the PBs are falling with regularity. Today's 60' in 15513 was a hard workout, but not as hard as I can go, yet still put me in the 90th %tile both at nonathlon and in the C2 rankings. That means I only have a few PBs left to reach my goal of 90% or better in all distances or times by the end of the season.

Dude! You are throwing down some awesome results over the past couple of weeks. Isn't cool how you can struggle for a while, and then, boom, all the pieces fall into place? Congrats on an awesome couple of rows!

Thanks.. Did one of the hardest efforts today that I have done in a long time and set another PB. This one for an HM (1:22:45.9). That was 2 min faster than my previous best but was extremely challenging mentally. It also got me into the 90 percent bracket at that distance at nonathlon and should be top 10 for the year in my age group (US only) if past year's results hold.

New 2k pb. Only by 1 sec though. I'd hoped to be faster but short distances are my weakness

Congratulations again! I have a similar 2k but my 5k and longer are way slower than yours.

Thanks. I've always done better at longer distances in other sports as well, so it isn't surprising that the same pattern holds true for rowing. Unfortunately most of the competitions are 2k though

Like you said, your 500m is 3/10s faster than mine; your 2k is similar; your longer stuff is slower. I almost wish my pattern was more like yours. I really need to find a way to improve my 2k so that it isn't my weak spot. Or, just stick to erg competitions like the Mid Atlantic in Alexandria where they have longer events.

New 500m PB by exactly 1 sec.
1:32.6 puts me on top of the US rankings for at least tonight

If history holds true this year compared to other years, that might squeeze into the top 20 by the end of the year.

There you go, faster than I even on the 500m! Congratulations!
I will not do any PB attempts before October. Too much on the water rowing going on.

Apparently running a lot isn't hurting my rowing times. I knocked another 30 seconds off my 10k PB tonight. I wanted in the 36s but couldn't quite get there. Finished with a 37:06.5
I think the thrill of seeing my name at the top of the US rankings, even for a few days until the real athletes start posting times, is driving me to push myself. I felt like I was seriously going to lose dinner when I was done.

@jlawson: good for you! I'm glad that your hard work is paying off with so many PBs lately.
