Today my last missing row for my season goal: first serious HM TT to reach 95th percentile of my group.
To get this goal the minimum required pace was 1:54. My recent 60min was at 1:50.9, so I decided to go for target pace 1:52 with aim to go as flat as possible.

Went really well and reached 1:18:40.1:

You have done a lot of impressive rows this season but this one was really good. A sub 1:52 pace for an HM is just strong! I would like to say I will try and match this at some point but I don't think I can. Stu can battle you for rows of over 10K and longer and I can battle you for under 5K and I think we all can battle each other at 5K.

The 60min was 112m further, the HM is 40s off yours, what equates to ~180m. So it seems the further the distance the greater the difference 😁
I think you are on point about our abilities to battle 😄

Hahaha, I definitely need to do a strong HM as I've struggled a bit with it ever since that magical day when I did my PB.

I might give it a go in the first two weeks of May for the C2 challenge, especially now the Pete Plan is starting to rebuild my confidence

Was feeling good during the day, so decided to just bite the bullet and put the HM in ergdata to get this in this season

my old pb was set November 18, 2022: 12th percentile

Code: Select all

Time Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M	Hr
1:45:00.9	21,097m	2:29.3	105	661	24	161
New PB - 23rd percentile

Code: Select all

Time Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M	Hr
1:39:27.3	21,097m	2:21.4	124	725	25	174
0:12:23.7	2,650m	2:20.3	127	735	26	169
0:12:23.4	2,650m	2:20.2	127	736	26	173
0:12:26.2	2,650m	2:20.7	125	731	26	174
0:12:25.5	2,650m	2:20.6	126	732	26	176
0:12:27.1	2,650m	2:20.9	125	730	26	178
0:12:53.0	2,650m	2:25.8	113	688	25	172
0:12:24.6	2,650m	2:20.4	126	734	26	173
0:12:03.6	2,547m	2:22.0	122	720	25	183
Had optimistically aimed to break 1:39:00 (2:20.7 split); you can see where I hit a bit of a wall, so nearly HD'd so many times after that, but achieved my aim of a sub 1:40:00 at least.

Absolutely emptied the tank on this...

And by leaning a little to the left periodically, I was able to mitigate the pain in my right glute/hamstring...

Woo Hoo!!
Congratulations on a great time, and on breaking a goal! (Even if it wasn't the ultimate goal.)
