EE ergs a 6:16 2K ... you erg a 7:02 2K ... hence you are not erging like this guy.

EE also rows in a straight line, very smoothly ... you row like a drunk rabbit in heat and run in to other boats ... hence you don't row like this guy.

In an average high school 8+ you couldn't beat a twinkie in a seat race.

Yep.

As will I.

Ten years ago, EE pulled 6:02.

Ten years ago, I pulled 6:30.

It looks as though we are now meeting in the middle.

Parallel arcs of decline and improvement.

I do hope you have no sharp implements close by as you type this shite. The obsession with EE would be funny if it wasnt so tragically sad.

Let's take another look:

Nope.
TSO still has the same preying mantis grip and boat-stopping form...

And the oddest thing of all? He believes that rowing the erg every day 365 days a year will make him faster on the water than if, in warm weather, he concentrated on sculling instead of (permanently) "unfinished business" aka (2k in 6:16)

Mike ... how is it possible that ranger can erg millions of meters and still have such horrible technique ... especially when his technique is now perfect?

Do you think his coach is complete idiot perhaps?

Not sure about that.

For instance, there is this:

If I pull a FM @ 1:48, it will predict a 6:16 2K.

I'd be happy with that.

I should be ready to race in about a month.

Just paddled that one in.
Call it what you want, but May 1st, it is going to be the only verified result from you this season.
Last year, no one my weight and age (or older) can within 20 seconds of my 2K.
This year, most everyone will manage it, even without bulking up to your weight

Yea.

Back in November, I still needed to learn to relax my shoulders and abs at the catch, and keep my shoulders relaxed when I engaged my abs.

With such fast legs, I also needed to lower the drag to 100 df.

Those things are now fixed.

Of course, there is also this:

Anything that I was doing at BIRC is not very relevant, given that I didn't get my weight right.

I didn't have any energy.

You need some energy to do a quality 2K.

Yeah, in 10 years, you managed to row 2 seconds faster. If we ignore the fact that the improvement happened long ago and you've actually been rather slower ever since, we could expect you to get to 6:16 from your 6:28 lwt best in 12 seconds / ( 2 seconds / 10 years ) = 60 years. We'll have to ignore the fact that you'll be well over 100 at that point. Good news for you, though: signs of senility for you should be pretty much be impossible to spot against the baseline

If a FM @ 1:48 is my only result this season, who would be more delighted than me?

That row would be pretty historic.

It would predict a 6:16 2K.

It would break the 60s _heavyweight_ FM WR by six seconds per 500m.

It would equal Slocum's 50s hwt FM WR, which hasn't been even approached for a decade.

I am a 60s lwt.

The difference between the 50s hwts and the 60s lwts is 8.5 seconds per 500.

Tw@t. You have serious stroke flaws that have remained since at least 2006. You are truly clueless. Do you have some kind of erging anorexia where what you see reflected is completely at odds with real world stuff?

BTW, what's with that camp left hand thing? And how does it play on the water? It might work on the piano but that kind of asymmetry must make you utterly shite in a single.

So: Now that you are fully energized...
How about an 80% effort with your current form.
Your HR would show it on the monitor... Just go along at 80% of your 190 man HR (152 bpm)
Your goal for 2k is to avg 421 watts.
80% of that is 337 watts... 80 % HR effort should give you the watts...
Simple!

There is no reason you could not show that lower avg. immediately... Unless, of course that you are lying about the ability need to match you stated goal...
hmmmm...
