I HD'd on this session last time out, at 1:47/1:48, so really pleased with this. I nearly switched it in favour of going back to bed as I'm between night shifts, but glad I got it in now.
A sub 7 is all too easily forgotten as something to always be very proud of. Four consecutive is really impressive, especially with a neg split.

Should definitely start a regular stretching routine.
I've always been very bad at stretching, but I do always advocate doing more of it, especially your feet which is something I've been doing a lot more of recently.

It's quite surprising how much of an effect it has with the entire body.

BPP W11S1 - 10k steady......very hot and decided to do it lunchtime which is not my norm. Didn't feel terrible but HR drifted into zone 5 briefly so maybe pushing it harder than necessary.

This is a great result and bodes well for a 5K PB for you. I had a similar score before my 5K PB. I think you would crush current score and go sub 17:30. It's hard to do 4 sub 7:00 2Ks even with 5 min rest. This is really good work!

Should be good for comfortably under 17.30 for 5km based on this!
Hopefully...just need to pluck up the courage to try it!

Absolutely, for the novice rower (don't particularly like to use this term and given my lack of experience I still consider myself one) a sub 7 is a very good benchmark, even more so for the lightweights out there. And agree with you re the effects stretching, or lack of, can have on the body. I went to see a physio for what I perceived to be a knee injury, turns out it was all stemming from my hip.

Thanks Keith, I appreciate the kind words. I find it hard to judge how a workout might suggest what time one is capable of over a set distance. Guess there is only one way to find out, hopefully prove you and deadlifting265 right!

I'm also in agreement. A sub 17:30 is within your reach, and possibly quite a bit under that too

Definitely a 5k PB due, by how much is up to you.

FYI, when I got to 6.31 for 2k I did a 5k four days later at 17.05. All depends on how balanced your training has been.

On Saturday I literally had no energy to do anything. Sunday I had a great & long day at the cricket with my mates, which took a big chunk out of me as it was steady drinking from 11am until 9pm.

Weights last night felt better than I expected, but I needed to be careful this morning as I've got to do the 6k tomorrow, as I've left it far too late again.

Two days of "boring" but effective work while traveling.

One thing I noticed was the altitude; I live at about 850m (2788') which doesn't seem to have much of a difference from sea level, maybe ever so slightly, but I have been at 1560m (5118') the last few days and training here, and while HR seems to have stayed relatively in check (avg 128bpm both days compared to 126-130bpm average two weeks ago while training at sea level), breathing was a bit more labored.
