Thx!

My lines come closer to yours 😁😇
Our lines seem to cross around 15-20k. HM faster, 10k slower.
You've only just started and will surely surpass my old man PB's :D ......I'm 50 this month

I'm really working mainly on the Skierg at the moment but will likely come back to the rower to try some 50's racing.
Hehe, ok, I am younger, but you are more than 10cm taller and probably heavier and you have more experience on rowing and technique what gives a huge advantage - so we at least have a tie 😁

What? How's that possible? 😄
80kg is my lowest weight since ~16 years. Coming from 86 (short time nearly 90, but never obese) 😇 - but last 3 years constant around 80. Ok, so it seems I could probably be the stronger guy...
Let's see how far I can get on the rower besides my strength training 😎

 no PB's planned in the next couple of months, I started a ca. 6 month training plan which will hopefully lead to some massive sprint PB's, but got COVID last week and had to take a few days off (no serious issues fortunately), so this week is my starting point and I've planned to post weekly what I've done :)

but if I was to change anything, what should it be? )
Endurance performance scales with time spent in zone 1/ Steady State. You are currently doing " three SS (~10k each)," In addition to the comments above, if you have the time, make the SS session longer. Good target would be 90 mins vs the 50-60 your using now (or 15-18K vs 10K).

Adding distance can increase the effort level. If you do add time/distance to your steady state you will need to monitor how you feel and see if your HR drifts up in the last 20 mins or so. You may need to drop your SS pace as you increase distance to meet the SS goal of little/no ANS impact. You may want to ramp up by adding only 10 mins/session (or 2K distance) a week until you get to your new SS target.

Been a few weeks since I've posted, but since then I've "accidentally" been about 1km away from a HM on a few occasions and now beat my previous 2K by a large margin.

Stepping off the rower after the first "near HM" I hadn't even broken a sweat and was speaking on the phone for 15 minutes during it. The joys of UT2.

I really put some thought into a training plan of my own, working weights into the non-rowing days. The biggest change has definitely been the implementation of "work hard or hardly work", and training for HR zones seems to have made a big difference too.

I'll post the current split soon but anyway, the PR (small drum roll): 2K in 6:56.3.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
6:56.3 2,000m 1:44.0 310 1368 30 168
1:43.5 500m 1:43.5 316 1386 29 161
1:44.2 1,000m 1:44.2 309 1364 29 169
1:44.5 1,500m 1:44.5 307 1355 29 171
1:44.1 2,000m 1:44.1 310 1367 31 173

I had gas in the tank and my HR was pretty steady. Didn't even peak (max HR around 187-190 I think).

It was encouraging enough that I'm already thinking about 6:50, but no rush.
