He also went for very high volume. Even his 800 runners. So yes, low intensity a lot, but far from easy. Plenty of speed later also.

Haven’t seen Hadd mentioned. Has Hadd anything to add?

I like his method of using heart rate drift to find the correct intensity for those runs, which are a bit faster than the easy runs. In theory, at least. In practice, it has become a standing joke that you will never be allowed to go beyond that stage, because you will never get you non-drifting intensity up where Hadd wanted it to be.

I do not like the Hadd test. Or rather his interpretation of it. The test itself I like a lot. He used the results to show that your low HR pace would come closer to your high HR pace if you did his training. However that part built on poor math - he obviously did not see the reciprocal relationship between speed and pace.
