60' TT next .....hoping to get a bit closer to 16k but I doubt I can get that milestone yet.
When is your 60? It will be one of your best results if you do manage 16k, but it's not out of the question. If you get to circa 15800m that will be impressive, given that you don't have much recent longer distance experience, and the 60 can be a mentally tougher session, unless you're Jo Andre, who loves timed sessions.

Probably Saturday morning I think......day off today then a couple of sessions before another day off then hit the HoP  . I'll be trying to rate up at 24-26 for this one....may even try a rate ladder split into 15' chunks....22, 24, 26, 28....not sure yet

I think Stu's guesstimate is about right - the closest I ever got to a 16k HoP was 15972m, and that was on the way to a 1:19.21 HM - I would think you need to be able to go sub-80 for an HM first, which if you can rate up is perfectly do-able in the near future.

I think Stu and Paul are right, 16k is not impossible, but propably not the right target for your coming 60' TT. With more prep for the longer distances you'll get this milestone for sure, but it's the same pace as your recent 10k PB, and 6k more are a lot.
No doubt we'll see a great new PB :D

Yeah, I think 16k is a pipedream at the moment......60' in the saddle is hard enough right now and my fitness levels probably have me around 1:54-55 I reckon. We'll find out soon enough :D

HM was 1.57 r22 so I would say 60min r22 would be 1.56. So 60min r24 1.55 r26 1.54 or there abouts.

100m PB - 13.8 (-0.2'') :D

Big PB for me today, managed to go sub 14!
It was also a LP PB at 1:05 :)

After yesterday's sprint prep I've planned something easier today, but legs felt surprisingly good. Wasn't 100% sure if legs are fit enough for the 1', so I tried a fastish 100 and decided to go for 100m. Felt incredibly powerful, weight training pays big dividends atm.

Great confidence boost for the coming 1', maybe tomorrow if I feel ready B)

Nice, now you see where your strongpoints are. This suits your body so much more, compare this with the amount of time you put in distance work and the results it gave. It would surprice me if even your 2k will improve with this kind of training. Offcourse keeping your fitness alive.

For a quite inelegant transition: I did a 10K today and wanted to share with you all my fourth new PB since late February - I squeaked in just under the deadline for the March event for the Indoor Rowers League, and chopped 1:03.6 off my previous PB, set in June 2020.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
39:15.5 10,000m 1:57.7 214 1037 25
7:48.7 2,000m 1:57.1 218 1048 25
7:52.2 4,000m 1:58.0 213 1032 25
7:53.2 6,000m 1:58.3 211 1027 25
7:53.2 8,000m 1:58.3 211 1027 25
7:48.3 10,000m 1:57.0 218 1050 27

I had set a goal of sub-39 minutes, but after starting out at that pace, I was pretty sure that for today I wasn't going to be able to hold onto it. Maybe on another day, but I needed to get this piece in to make sure I finished out the season with the IRL schedule. I feel like for how I felt going in, I paced it pretty much spot-on. Next time, I'm going to see that 38 on my monitor!
Nice Jon,
A minute + is heaps to take off your PB. Sub-40 is my grail target, nowhere near at the moment.

First time poster.

I did a marathon and a 50K row - 2 weeks apart. Marathon (about my 5th time) was a PB at 2:55:02. Strange thing is that the 50K (2nd 50K effort) 2 weeks later, was a touch faster - with a slower average HR (130 average 50K vs 135 average FM)... I can't work out why that would be.

Training for a 100K in September 2021, any tips grateful. I will search the boards for any info. Think I can do it, but want to post a reasonable time (maybe <7 hrs). Hardest part is losing the tempo and rythym when slowing to drink or reaarange yourself. I'll need to plan this in a bit more detail.
Welcome to the forum Mal. Great PBs, at a very low HR for that pace - you must have quite the CV system.

Very powerful stuff there - what DF did you use?

Thanks Paul!
DF was around 350, this gets me ca. 0.2'' faster than DF 200 :)
