Feet and Ankles

Post by TCMBUNA » December 21st, 2006, 4:30 pm

I am not having any pain and I am enjoying my rower but I have a question. I apologize for not knowing all the terminology yet but here it goes.

When I return to the rower (is this bottom of the catch) and my shins are square to the floor I am on the ball of my feet. Should my feet stay flat at this point? Do I need to work on ankle flexibility? I am use to squatting and driving off my heels and now I am driving off the balls of my feet. It feels a little awkward and I want to make sure I have the form right from the beginning. Also I have size 8 1/2 feet about where should my heel fall? I currently have the foot rests set on 2.

I don't know of anyone who can keep their feet flat with the shins vertical, although I am sure they exist. The more flexible your ankles are the better, but I would not worry about it too much.

My feet are 9.5-10 and my streetchers are at 3. So we are in the same ballpark. Don't know if its right or not. I've done a little experimenting and this feels right.
