How can you calculate meters rowed on a bike

Post by newfiegirl » November 19th, 2006, 2:30 pm

Someone was telling me that you can count a run or a bike ride towards your meters on the log. Does anyone have any information on this??

Someone was leading you astray. Running, cycling and rowing aren't at all similar. Although rowing can improve your leg strength and cardio fitness for cycling (I've PB'd on the club hill climb for three years in a row).

You can't log rides or runs as rowed metres, it just doesn't make sense.

You probably shouldn't log non-rowing meters in your C2 log book, at least if you are using it for challenges, etc. Defeats the point of the exercise. However, cross training is great for you, and there is nothing in the world to stop you from making up your own Excel spreadsheet, with a place for all of your various activities, and your mileage and pace in each one. That way you can do whatever you want, and still keep track of your progress in each area.

"Someone" must have confused rode with rowed.

You can't count riding as rowing. I would be done with the holiday challenge already!
