Improving Times

Post by zubeldia » November 5th, 2006, 9:09 pm

Hello,

I'm fairly new to rowing/erging, although I have a background in other endurance sports. I've just started following a training program (interactive 2k borrowed from the UK website) and I'm wondering what gains I might be able to expect. I'm a lightweight woman and really I'm looking to improve in all distances. My 5k time (completed before embarking on the structured program which has doubled my time on the erg) is 22.45. What might be a realistic pb time to shoot for over the coming winter season? I'd be very interested in anyone's thoughtsm, if only for an added incentive to keep to the program.

Thanks,
Zubeldia

The relatively new thread entitled "The road to Boston 2007" is devoted to the U.K. Interactive Programme (sic). There is also a similar thread that has been on the U.K. forum for quite some time.

Looks like you're doing ok already; and the page above can show you what others of your age/weight class can do too. If you see any large discrepancies with your own workouts, could be due to technique; which is a good place to start anyway.

Thank you. I think I'm doing okay in comparison (I;m in the 30-39 age range). I'm just a little bit competitive with myself:)
