Just got my C2 in early August. I returned to single sculling for the first time in 30 years in June and have been spending most of my time on the water - but being in New England the water is getting a little cold. They say there are two kinds of scullers in the world. Those who have flipped, and those who will. I still belong to the later group and plan to stay that way until the water is warm again. So I'm on the erg till spring. I'm pretty new at this so keep setting PB's about every time I erg. Since it's the fall I figured I finally do a 6K piece. Lo and behold - not bad. Ended up at 7:25. Not blazing fast but the fastest Masters D heavyweight listed on the rankings in Massachusetts. Now if I just had some technique on the water. Best part is I've lost 30 pounds in a bit over 4 months and feel fantastic!

A 6k at 7:25? There must be a typo somewhere in those numbers. A 2k maybe?

Opps - typo it is. Make that 23:25 for 6K.

But your also right on my 2K PB - which is in fact 7:25, but was a pretty lame effort.

New PB 6k: 22:08.1
Our coach put tape over the 500m splits, so we had to go by projected and time left. I had no sprint at all (1:48 for last 500). I'm kinda happy, although I wanted to break 22:00. I went out way to fast though. Projected after 2k was 21:37

My goal was 16100. I didn't really start suffering until 45 or 46 minutes into it. But with 8 minutes to go I felt sure I would be able to to make it and picked it up. With 30 seconds to go I unleashed a mighty (read that, "not entirely wussy") sprint.

I think my wife was impressed.

Not a PB, just an SB, but I was still quite pleased. This past Sunday I did a HM in 84:24, so a 2:00 split time for the whole thing.

i havent rowed in a while so idk what i pull now, but a few months ago i pulled a 6:40 i plan on breaking 6:30 and im only 14 (15 in a 4 months) :shock:

I PB'd the 2k yesterday during BIRC: 6:49,3, 2,8 sec less than my previous one. B)
I was aiming for something better, but had a tremendous flu, and am quite happy with the time.
In stead of the planned slightly negative splitting, I managed an almost even splitting of 1:42,3; 1:42,2; ,:142,6 and 1:42,3

I hope to do sub 6:40 further in this season :?
