Why didn't I train today
Why didn't I train today
Simple,
I vistited a friend,
And drank his beer,
Then his rose,
then his white wine,
started on his red , but went home
Why didn't YOU train today??

Its to hot and humid. I might train tonight around 10. once it cools down a little. I dont have AC in the house and it was well over 90 today and very humid.
I ended up rowing from 10-10:30.

And...?
Did you win?
I know you did!!
I was the only woman in my boat class, so ....... yeah, I got credit for winning.
The race runs from the coast of Maine to a small group of islands seven miles off shore. We had perfect sunny weather, a pleasant change from the previous weekend when the Blackburn Challenge was canceled because of fog. At Blackburn the race started, then after we had gone about three miles (out of 20) the Coast Guard came along and made us turn back. But the Isles of Shoals race went well.
So I'm HAPPY!!!!!!
Hi Don ---
Open water rowing in New England is declining, I'm afraid. Clubs that used to sponsor races have withered away. Nonetheless, you might check out the Hull Lifesaving Museum's calendar http://www.lifesavingmuseum.org/races/racecalendar.html The museum puts on interesting, well-attended events, but definitely call to confirm, as the organizers aren't above canceling if the weather is bad.
The soon-to-be-renamed Alden Ocean Shell Association, which organizes the Isles of Shoals race, has opened up its membership and now welcomes owners of all recreational shells. http://www.aosa.us The website has a schedule, but it seems to be pretty much lifted from the US Rowing calendar ---- flat water races.
The Cape Ann Rowing Club http://www.blackburnchallenge.com sponsors two races, but both have come and gone for this year. (The 2006 Blackburn results shown on the site are for a mid-morning restart over a very much truncated but USCG-approved course).
I was rowing an Echo on Saturday http://www.echorowing.com
