Hey
I have a delightful new boss, who used to row. We have a challenge of 2 km on the erg, on July 4th. There's money involved (hour of my money, versus an hour of his money!)
Several Problems:
I haven't really rowed since VHORR - that life thing got in the way.
I've never actually done a 2k erg - my first attempt the other day came in at 7.50!
I'm pretty much old and past it.
Several Advantages:
I already cycle 2x30 mins daily. Slowly and through traffic but still counts.
I have free access to a gym and could conceivably do 2 sessions per day.
If any kind souls have any ideas how to structure some form of training regime bearing in mind we have 2 weeks from tomorrow...I'll donate half my winnings to the charity of your choice.

What exactly is the challenge, straight time, adjusted for age, weight, etc...? Any idea what the boss will be able to do?
Cheers!

Two weeks??
Improve? I don't think so in 2 weeks,
But I would try doing some hard short stuff the first week, and going easy the second!
Better Q: ways to cheat??
I'll think about my own Q:
A: later, I hope
Anyway, train hard and good luck
( have a look at the UK forum, Sir P has some good tips with a rusty saw )

Hmmm, You're probably the best judge of this, but your best strategy might be to "lose with dignity"- put up a good fight but for gods sake dont beat your new boss.........C2JonW
