10k A Day?

Post by Adrenaline » May 24th, 2006, 9:36 pm

Our team's crew season is wrapping up quickly, saturday being our last race. I want to improve my fitness greatly over the summer and I heard that 10k a day is a great way to improve times even for lower distances. I wouldn't do a 10k every single day, but I do intend to erg 4-6 days a week and run 6 days a week.

If I did 6 10ks a week for 8 weeks, do you more experienced guys think this would be a good summer plan? I talked to my coach and he said that doing shorter pieces would not be nearly as helpful as longer pieces.

5 10ks a week, plus weight lifting, was my schedule this past summer. I dropped over 10 seconds on my 2k and lost 20lbs.

Just doing 10k's will probably get old fast. Maybe switch it up a couple times with some hour peices or so. But yea, a 10k every day will def make you get faster.
