I am truely sorry for the disappointment.
The manufacturer uses my UPS account and then I get charged. You can imagine my suddle SHOCK when I saw that the shipping was $100 plus $5 for "gas surcharge".
I have to check in with UPS. One week of transit is really fast...therefore expensive...

Don't y'all over there have wood or plastic laying around.

You should be able to make this for FREE and it isn't all that difficult.

as for the charges incurred upon receipt I will check with UPS but they're not open in the weekends.
And Xeno, I can imagine the shock. I am not trying to be a bigger asshole than some may think I am, but you can also imagine that it is frustrating from a buyers point of view when one thnk to have bought something for $159, and end up with $215. I really would check the method of shipping at your end since $100 is crazy. There must be cheaper ways, the shipment was deleivered for the 1st time on Wednesday, so this is quick and therefore probably very expensive.

Probably so but is a very reliable and easy to install piece of junk, that can most likely be easily copied in China, but is not easy to get as of now. So, yes, very expensive (too, actually for my taste) but it works like a charm.

Hi Xeno,

The good old US postal service is far better than the UPS $100+. (Reverse that for inside the US)

You will need to use a special customs form (one that makes 6 copies or something) since it's over 4lbs, but they have those at any full service post office.

I've been able to break about even on shipping with $45 to the EU, it still costs me just a bit more than that, but I like the round figure.

The additional "COD" 29 EURO was probably Duty and VAT, not much we can do about that unfortunatley. :)
Erg on,
