Woke up not feeling like having another go at the Endurance Series Week 3 workout, but some good-natured trash-talk from some Sub7 teammates compelled me to get back on the erg...

Every interval is scored, and it'll be interesting to see how the field decides to attack the sprint intervals vs. the endurance intervals... I think this attempt will score better than yesterday's, but I could be wrong. Will find out over the next few days and be powerless to do anything about it while on my erg-less vacation!

I gave everything. Tomorrow morning I have sore muscles in the upper back but totally in a good way. And my shoulder is still fine. So happy about that
I feel able to achieve bigger goals now.
Really happy to hear this Julia.
I think a real game changer was your advice that my grip might be too loose. I‘m now more activated at the catch with a slightly tighter grip. I have less problems after a hard long interval session than after a UT2. I‘m still working on it.
Sounds like you've really managed to iron out those bad form habits that can creep in, really glad to hear you're feeling better on the erg and motivated again!

Wow, this was probably the worst session of the season
Programmed a HM again, covered the screen to not think about pace or any metric. Low drag, low rate. After ~30mins I really couldn't go on, no energy.
Gym session yesterday evening was very hard again, but performance was top. Only on these cardio stuff my body bails out currently and recovery is on lowest possible level atm.

Pure willpower today! After having gut issues for 24h from sunday to monday I thought I was fully recovered and attacked the 8x500m r2:30 inspired by my ErgEnduranceSeries team mate Ben. Goal was 2k-3 2:08.6. But right into the first two intervals my legs feeled really wobbly and I thought I would surely HD at some point. But something strange happened and I realized after the third interval that my HR recovered faster than ever from 175 to 115 for every interval. It‘s the first time that my heart is stronger than my muscles. So I had the confidence to finish even better than I thought I would. Pretty proud :D (Still have to work on the stroke rate)

my son has recently taken up a job down at Antarctica as a builder at Mc Murdo base. during some time off he jumped on the Erg for the first time ever.
they have C2 down there but only with a PM2 monitors.
he knocked out 2 x 10k at 1:52 and 32sm. he did suffer from blood noses each time but that is due to the lack of humidity (<5%)
helps that hes 28 6ft 5 and 110kg and has a history of power lifting.
i have encouraged him to do a 2k. will see if he does.

It's the first time I face this problem. In the gym session no problems (no easy reps, e.g. 4x10 trap bar deadlifts @120kg, pullups, handstand pushups - so quite demanding exercises).
The rowing session yesterday was at an easy pace, typically no problem after a very hard gym session, did that several times. But currently my body says 'no, don't do that'
Also feeling much more tired over the day than usually, which reflects my recovery issues.

As far as broken distance pieces go, I think this is a favourite. Had a bizarre disruption on the first piece, I needed to get off and flex my knee for it to 'click' as it didn't feel right. Is this a sign of the times to come? I'm not liking 35 yrs old being weeks away
