Coincidentally, I too did the same session as Sascha, a little bit of online competition to mix things up about. The time of third, sixth and ninth interval is scored, in addition to overall distance. I put a relatively hard effort in on Wednesday, tried to improve today and was more 'tactical' with my approach:

32:51.0 9,432 1:44.4 307 1356 25

3:39.0 1,057 1:43.5 315 1383 26
3:39.0 1,061 1:43.2 318 1395 26
3:39.0 1,090 1:40.4 345 1488 26
3:39.0 1,015 1:47.8 279 1259 24
3:39.0 1,012 1:48.2 276 1250 24
3:39.0 1,099 1:39.6 354 1517 26
3:39.0 998 1:49.7 265 1211 24
3:39.0 1,000 1:49.5 267 1217 24
3:39.0 1,102 1:39.3 357 1527 28

Recovery is 66 seconds. In hindsight, I went too quick on the first two, bit of a grey zone effort, I should have been low 1:39's on the third interval. Also, I'm probably a little stronger than I think at the moment, which sounds a little arrogant I know. I should push the boundaries one session soon and see where I land!
Well done, 3 of 4 scores better than mine B)
I hope I can plan better next weeks workout to give you a better competition

So today my citius remex arrived - and I will admit I was a bit nervous having sat on it in my casual/work clothes earlier and it immediately felt "weird"

I've gone for the high version, as I'm over 1.9m & I have been over 90kg - which is what the company recommend being the threshold for high vs low.

no inserts while I get used to it, but if today's row is anything to go by, I wish I'd spent the money sooner.

Posture felt massively improved from the first few strokes - and even more so as I got past the initial freshness.
The catch felt much easier and I was no longer fighting my lumbar spine - if anything I think I can steal some length at the front where I never used to be able to.

Today felt easy - totally relaxed, not a single twinge in the nerves in my calf, knee, hamstring or glute area and my toes could be waggled at will on the right leg.

Hr suggests that everything is more efficient which would seem to tie in with the low RPE.

I know one row doesn't = a result but I'm feeling positive having got off the erg for the first time in an age, and not in (probably had become significant if I'm honest with myself) discomfort either.

Few sore muscles in my back under my shoulders as my arm engagement is def different, less pressure on my hands it feels like too - and some slight "different pressure in unusual places" awareness due to the perineum support.

probably deserves a comment on one of the other threads, but there we go.... for a first impression I'm happily surprised; hopefully I can get back to looking forward to getting on the erg again!

now for the row details

So pleased to read you have potentially found a solution to your troubles. I too wish I had spent the cash earlier, but what's done is done and you can (hopefully) move forward pain free.

Injuries I can accept, but niggles which you can't pinpoint a cause to are so frustrating and demotivating.

Given how much better it felt, we can safely discount that it was just a good day, so I'm very inclined to say that you've found the solution to your problem and also to a few other issues that you hadn't even considered were an issue. It's surprising how many other things can be traced back to one issue.

If I wouldn't have switched the ergenduranceseries with the TOC on Tuesday, my result probably would look a bit different, but not a whole lot.
Anyway, I'll take the TOC win instead B) :D (unless you go again...)

Not sure what the likelihood of that is, fast running out of days this month...maybe Monday evening, just to get that rate cap approved!

One of those (thankfully) rare days that it doesn't matter what you do nothing is working, so you need to just HD and hope tomorrow is better. I couldn't get up this morning as I felt like I had a hangover, so it wasn't too much of a surprise as this was a rare late afternoon row
