Get the crunchy nut cornflakes and cold milk ready. They are the power food for anything that's going to take a while. We used those on the 300,000m row when we had two folks to each ergo rowing twenty minutes at a time.

I'll bear them in mind, but think they might taste a bit sickly, especially as I will be drinking sugar drinks, but everyone has said have a variety so will get a box. Milk was on the agenda anyway.

FWIW, I lost my appetite on the 12hr, but not during the 100k, or the few failed attempts. Not sure why, but I'd definitely recommend a wide variety, but you already know about this type of session/effort

Wow, this will be an achievement. How is it going to work ? We have a plan, but may have to modify mid-row. Bizarrely C2 are insisting that we record in the agreed format of 2 intervals of 900,000 and 100,000 so no need to set up the splits beforehand. While we hope to manage 2:30 splits for the majority, we will be doing some longer sessions to allow the other rower to have some recovery, so 2 x 2hr each per night (hopefully full sleep cycle each session) and occasional hours. We are intending to do these at a slower pace that will significantly effect the finish time (24 hrs for sleeping alone). But to be honest we have no idea what we will be able to maintain so only established initial target paces. Similarly while I have tried various sessions after food don't know what I will be able to face. On 24hr had virtually nothing but my self-mixed dilute energy drink. Hoping that the frequently mentioned "golden hour" after a workout when sugar absorption is quicker starts early so we get plenty in between 20 min rows. Intend to try and have a proper meal in the last break before my first 2hr and preparing a large pasta bake. But will have crunchy nuts, protein bars and a vast quantity of homemade rice pudding as well as fruit for smoothies on hand. Not sure on coffee intake. Will have each morning, but on work "all-nighters" I find that it doesn't help after a while, just makes me jumpy.
One question, am I correct in thinking that the 1hr before rule for weigh in is not a requirement for record attempts? Similarly recently mentioned WRC requirement to demonstrate accuracy of scales by rowing a standard weight. We intend to start at 4:30AM to hopefully finish at a sociable hour (on a 1mm solo by a club member there were a lot of people up in small hours to support him through the final stages and we are trying to reduce the likelihood of this as well as acknowledging that nerves will get us up early, so better to make use of it).
