Tonight I took a run at the 100 meter Ski Erg American Record, and I needed to beat 18.4 seconds. I was 2.3 seconds to slow and a skied a 20.7 seconds.
But the good news is, that score puts me 2nd in the American rankings.(.6 seconds behind 1st)

I am looking at marathon plans and most of them are based on a current 2k time. So, today I did my second 2k TT since I started erging.
My previous PB was around 7:30. I am not in the best shape right now, but confident that I should manage to improve on this. I decided on 1:50 on my starting pace. I slowed down towards the end but have a new 2k PB of 7:21 and a number to use for the marathon plan.

Thanks. My only previous 2k time is from more than 2 years ago. I normally don‘t row the 2k distance. Based on recent 5ks, I am off 40s of my 5k PB from last year. So, not in the best shape, but hopeful that it will get better again.

Well managed to tick off one of my low hanging fruit PB's; previous 6k was 2:06.9@r20 25:23.5 from Nov '23.

Hr was higher at every point along this, and I was v grateful for ergzone and counting the (small) splits down + my music today.

Beat my target of 2:06 flat, but slightly sad I couldn't find 6s to duck under 25mins.

Def a win from the wanting to HD and toughing it out though.

I could manage a 1k skierg PB by - 1.8s from my skierg world sprints PB from November. It was during the gym session warmup and I wasn't feeling it at all, but had the plan to start at 1:36-37 and hold as long as possible. Turned out I could hold it the entire distance B)

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M
3:14.0	1,000m	1:37.0	383	1619	53
0:38.8	200m	1:37.0	383	1619	54
0:38.5	400m	1:36.2	393	1650	53
0:38.8	600m	1:37.0	383	1619	53
0:39.0	800m	1:37.5	378	1599	54
0:38.8	1,000m	1:37.0	383	1619	54
But there was nothing left at the end, so it really was a max effort

Thx!
I feel it is getting better each day, breathing was perfectly fine (I couldn't breathe properly for 10mins afterwards, as my lungs were dead, but that's another story  ).
Seems I am completely over it now and can focus on training again B)

Thank you gents - I never felt I could not do this one, just that I didn't really "want" to continue to suffer through..... prob means there's more in the tank in real terms, but it's a good marker at only 1.2s per split off my 5k (but still 2.2s per split of the freespirits prediction based off my 2 &10k's)
