form check

Post by BTE » August 18th, 2023, 9:46 am

Hello all, newbie here! New to erging, used to row at school. Just wondering, what is the best way to check your form? Is it doing rowalongs or recording yourself or some other method? I am pretty sure that when I get tired my form goes, and sometimes it takes me a little time to get into the swing of things.

If you had coaching afloat your style should be OK. Boats need us to swing forward first to clear the knees (and the water) and get the weight on the feet. The same rule applies on erg; and maybe more-so, because we have catch up with the spinning flywheel, so the catch has to be quick with the leg action.

Some post a side view video, but I've no idea how.

Swing of things: takes time. Warmup is always a long job, especially if you intend to produce a lot of power.

The best way is to take a video side view. Upload it to a share site somewhere and post a link on here. Should get some good and useful feedback...
