Pete Plan - Hard Distance
Re: Pete Plan - Hard Distance
Thank you for the answers and the great discussion! A follow-up question: At what pace should I do the hard distance pieces. So far I have been aiming for 2k+12.

I'd probably say that's about right, but you might be able to knock off a few seconds. The best thing to do is use +12 and gauge how it feels for you. As long as you're being tested, and can recover adequately, it's the right pace.
51 HWT; 6' 4"; 1k= 3:09; 2k= 6:36; 5k= 17:19; 6k= 20:47; 10k= 35:46 30mins= 8,488m 60mins= 16,618m HM= 1:16.47; FM= 2:40:41; 50k= 3:16:09; 100k= 7:52:44; 12hrs = 153km

Re: Pete Plan - Hard Distance
Depending on distance. A 5 at that pace would not be hard. A 60 min would be.
Hard distance, How Pete it did, was going for a pb. Certainly when you are beginning and still improving. A 5k Roughly can be done at 2k plus 5/7 seconds.
10k again roughly 4 seconds slower. 60 min maybe 2/3 seconds less fast.
Those are max paces. A “hard” pace maybe would be pb pace plus 3?
