I broke the 20 minute barrier for 5K by a hair. The last two minutes weren't pretty but I got it done 19:59.6

That puts me close to the current 90th percentile mark for a 65-69 year old, light weight male. Beat my 2018 time by 11 seconds and beat my 2021 time by 30 seconds. Oh Yeah...

Nice going Dutch, you're on a bit of a roll ATM. Aerobic fitness improvements from the bikersg work you've been putting in?

Actually pretty pleased with myself, considering that I have only ever done one session above 10k.

Something is going to hurt tomorrow, I guess :)
Well done Jerome, it's as much a mental battle as a physical one (unless you go out too fast and suffer) but it looks like this was very well controlled. Good work.

Really very good work Fuller. 90th %ile shoes how challenging this is. I can well imagine the satisfaction (and relief) that hinged on that final 0.4s.

24' 6k next.

Cheers max, Yes I think the bike erg is seeing me through a lot of the improvements. I find with the bike I can just put my head down close my eyes and cycle and ignore that pain from being out of breath and muscles screaming and just push through it. Far more so than the rower. I now know why pain is so hard on the rower lol :o

I wasn't very consistent until recently - 590k meters in the 2021 season and 410k in the current season - of that 370k was in Aug/Sept.

OK, so you have really increased the meters which is great- now at this pace you will be getting to 2M before you know it. Hitting the 1M is a big deal - congrats!

SWEET !!!

The T-shirt C2 sends you is a nice gesture. You need to order it. https://log.concept2.com/challenges

When you reach your million milestone (1 million, 5 million, 10 million etc.) for any given type of Concept2 equipment, go into your Online Logbook account, click Challenges, and scroll down until you see the Million Meter Club area. A section will appear for each ergometer type that you use.
Follow the instructions to print an achievement certificate (worldwide), and request free rewards or purchase additional prizes (US and Canadian).
