Logbook - HR columm&total sometimes there sometimes not ?
Logbook - HR columm&total sometimes there sometimes not ?
Hi all,
I'm starting with a RowErg + PM5 + Polar H9 + ErgData, sync'ing to the online logbook works well but I have something weird.
In the two logs linked (first, second), both have the HR line on the graph, but the 1st log has a last column for the HR in the table with the splits (and the overall HR of 163 on the top of the page), while the 2nd log hasn't got these (last column in the table + HR in the totals).
I don't know if it's some sort of bug or if I did something wrong/different between the two sesisons (like not associating the H9 to ErgData). Any idea ?
Thanks !

The splits are unrelated to the graphing.
The split is the instantaneous reading at the point in time when the split time or split distance is reached.
That's how the PM2/PM3/PM4 & PM5 have always worked. It's not an ideal design, but it's not going to change.

That;'s fine to me. What I don't understand is why in one log I have this (with the parts circles in red):

And in the other this:

The HR strap wasn't registering / paired with the PM5 on the second row.

Thats definitely possible, I'll check.
Not a big deal but not very practical either. Thought that as ErgData reminds the HR monitor, that would have been enough as anyway it's ErgData uploading the data to the online log ...

My advice is to pair the HR strap with PM5. Then the PM5 will push HR data to ErgData as well. No need to pair it to both.
ErgData gets you the graph - and you can see the HR on the graph even though at the data columns it is missing.

I had a problem with this before. It was fixed with my order of connecting everything. Here's what I do
1) connect phone to bluetooth speakers for music
2) connect HR to PM5
3) connect PM5 to ErgData
It took me a week or so to figure this out. Hope this works for you b/c I know it can be annoying.

Thanks all for the answers, I'll try (likely tomorrow) and report back.

Just tried as explained above (HR connected only to PM5, then ErgData to PM5) and it worked fine.
I guess I'll have to redo this every time but it's not a big deal.
Thanks all !

Ergdata will save the HR monitor information and automatically connect the HR monitor to the PM5. That's how I have mine set up. Get the HR monitor active before starting Ergdata and PM5. There is a thread on this somewhere, and there is doc on it here: https://www.concept2.com/service/heart- ... pm4-or-pm5 I used to manually connect HR monitor, this is easier. It took several rowing sessions before Ergdata asked to save the HR monitor data.
Pairing while connected to the ErgData application
Put the chest belt on, and press any button on the Performance Monitor (PM) to power it up.
Connect ErgData to the PM.
Select Connect Heart Rate. Within 5-10 seconds, the PM will list identification information for any chest belt it finds. This information may include brand or model information and/or and ID number.
Choose the ID that corresponds to your chest belt. (If you are unsure, check the chest belt ID, which is typically listed on the back of the belt.)
Select Confirm.
On the ErgData app, select Yes to, "Remember Heart Rate Belt?"
This saves your chest belt’s ID to your ErgData application so that the PM automatically detects your chest belt in the future.

Thank Tsnor, that seems to work fine.
Probably I did it once, then next time I re-paired the HRM to the app and that messed things up.
