Are there lists of songs to row to for a certain SPM like there are songs for running a certain cadence?
I don't know about the SPM but yes, as you said, there are songs that use with a set BPM... Here is one that increased the rate to make it better for spin classes...

The problem is that you will have a harder time finding the specific songs you want. The good news is that if you search for "150 bpm" or whatever pace, you will find a lot of tracks tuned to your pace.

Keep your body parts a safe distance away from the rower who is doing 150 spm :D

I found the quality of my training suffers when I not concentrate on the training I’m doing.

For performance purposes I’d not advise it.

However a training with distraction might be better than no training at all!

:D So true! I just meant as an example of the type of video. You guys with the beloved 20 spm will need to find some dirge from Brahms or Beethoven.

Genau! That is a big part of the benefit. I can row 20 minutes really well if I focus; I hit my splits and my form is better. But if I am watching Rückkehr der Nibelungen or Game of Thrones, I might row for a solid hour. I can't just stare at the PM5 for an hour on a "base building" day when the goal is to just get some moderate meters in the bank.

I am trying to even find a song slow enough for 20 spm...

Maybe this would work? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljpe307QhM0

Seriously though, here is a guy who did go through and break it down by SPM. I don't use Spotify but if you do, this might be good: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rowing/comment ... ever_need/

My preference is for viewing TV programs that would appeal to the kindergarten mentality.....Three Stooges, classic Looney Tunes cartoons, etc.

Tried rowing to an audio book last night.

I'm not there yet. My form isn't great in the first place, so the second I don't focus on it, it's a disaster.

Looks like no distractions for me for quite a while still.

Maybe try playing songs with a BPM that's a multiple of the SPM you want.

At 20 SPM, an 80 BPM song will have four beats per stroke.

d and occasionally e. If I listen to or watch anything else I slow down. Only recently I have been able to let my mind wander and not change rate or split and only on longer steady pieces.
