Well done. Not done one in a few years. Pretty horrible, those 3 minutes feel like an hour.

Congrats Max.....awesome new PB and I can only imagine how much that last 400m hurt  B)

Great stuff Max. A massive wobble at halfway, and still ramping it up for the last 200m is really good going.

Well done Max, that's a long way to go with a wobble half-way, great effort!
Thanks all,
It's still not as painful as a wobble on the rower, but my legs were literally wobbling - whenever else would you do a 178 rep set of good mornings?!?

Very good result, despite not hitting the massive milestone of sub three. It's very tough to knock off three seconds from a 1k PB

More than respectable!! As said 3 secs out of 3mins is excellent. I’m building courage to give my 1k a go, be more than happy to take 3 seconds.

3 second improvement on 1K is a lot! Strong row despite the fly and die and it's easy to do on the 1K. You could do better with better pacing, sub 3:00 is a great goal to have but it takes a lot of work.

Seems like the time of year for a lot of new PB's (I'm looking at you, Max, and you, strupotter - awesome work, both of you!) - does that always happen near the end of the season?

Adding another of my own - this is two new PBs for me in the last 10 days or so, and I'm planning for a third soon in the 10K.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
22:49.3 6,000m 1:54.1 236 1110 26 169
4:32.8 1,200m 1:53.6 238 1120 26 163
4:33.1 2,400m 1:53.7 238 1117 25 169
4:35.6 3,600m 1:54.8 231 1095 25 171
4:35.3 4,800m 1:54.7 232 1098 26 175
4:32.4 6,000m 1:53.5 239 1123 27 171

This is 39.1 seconds faster than my last 6K time trial, which I did last June. That was about two months after I started rowing indoors as my main form of exercise. I was aiming for sub-23:00, so hit my goal. Man, the 6K is kind of a weird distance - too long to really go for it, but too short to not really go for it. I think I hit the pacing pretty close to just right for me, though.

Don't let your disappointment in not getting sub-3 detract from a very good and very gutsy row. 3s is heaps to take off, and still putting in such a good time despite a painful f& (almost) d is a great effort.
