Congratulations, Rod! Well done! To PB older and lighter is truly remarkable. Hats off to your training edication.Damien

Wow, Rod - that's incredible. I can feel the pain in those extra 9 metres. Definitely not lightweight lungs you have there!
Thanks
Damien and
Jimmy, it was a lot of training to get there but that just seems normal as I’m retired from working now…..so wouldn’t know what else to do!
The extra metres certainly hurt but then that’s ‘normal’ too as some of the 6 sessions per week plus weights and Wattbike work can get pretty tough.
Once I get over 2k things seem to feel a lot better so I’ll keep going all the way up to the Marathon…could be an ‘interesting’ journey, the next ‘stops’ will be a 6k and then a 10k….more pain…more training…..more ….err…..’’fun’’?
67 year old, 72 kilo (159lbs), 5'8''/174cm (always the shortest on the podium!) male. Based just south of London.
Best rows as an over 60. One Hour.....16011 metres. 30 mins.....8215 metres. 100k 7hrs 14 mins.

Done a few sprints today at the gym PB 15.5 100m.
Been trying out different drag settings etc.
Elbow tendinitis which I’ve had previously several times before from various other training has flared up again. Icing it and massage holds it off so I’ll ease off for a while before attempting any PB’s.
A smoother stroke and a 1k time coming up...maybe.
Rogers over.
Male 42, 6’2 HW 94kg. Low pull: 1:10.
PB’s: 100m-14.7 500m-1:21.4 1k-3:02.8

Holy smokes, that is ridiculous(in a good way)! With that strong of a 6k you are probably sub16 on the 5k?

6k Time Trial
21:55.9
New British Record in the 60-69 Lightweight Category (The ''Little Old Men'' )
I improved the record I set a year ago by
3.7 seconds.
I posted this in the training thread but putting it here as well as it's an ''all time'' PB....which shows I should have taken this crazy lark a lot more seriously when I first got involved at the tender age of 49.....but I really did have absolutely no idea I could ever get to Lightweight (the thought didn't even occur to me back then...) or row this fast!
Big thanks again to Eddie Fletcher whose superb coaching has got me into the kind of shape where I can do this and continues to get me fitter and faster

Brill to see, well done Rod. So you reckon that hard work does pay off - not something I'm familiar with
. And more to come you say - will look forward to that IDC.
