ErgData - is drive length recorded?

Post by athene » January 12th, 2019, 1:57 am

Does ayone know if the ErgData app records drive length? I would like to check my drive length for historical sessions but can't see it in the app or on concept2 online logbook.

I don't think it is. My only suggestion is to screenshot the session
51 HWT; 6' 4"; 1k= 3:09; 2k= 6:36; 5k= 17:19; 6k= 20:47; 10k= 35:46 30mins= 8,488m 60mins= 16,618m HM= 1:16.47; FM= 2:40:41; 50k= 3:16:09; 100k= 7:52:44; 12hrs = 153km

You can calculate number of strokes by SPM times elapsed time. You know the distance rowed. Distance per stroke is easy (Distance divided by (SPM times elapsed time)). Stu's screen grab may be easier.

Its about the lenght of handle drive, not the meters per stroke.

Don,t think they are recorded. Just like drive time.

Agreed, there's no way to get it from the workout data and it definitely isn't recorded by Concept2 on their log.

Well that's a shame. Screenshots are of no use for gathering statistics such as variations in a single session, between sessions and between different athletes.

Yes, drive length is recorded. In the app's opening screen there are 2 boxes on the right of the display. Click on either of these boxes and a menu allows you to select drive time, drive speed, drag factor, etc ... and, yes, drive length.

Do we agree on the difference between "recorded" and "shown on screen"?

Very many indoor rowers can easily pull 10mps (calculated movement of a simulated uncoxed 4 IIRC but look it up). Very few rowers come close to creating 2m of actual handle travel in the drive portion of stroke so there should be no mistaking meters per stroke for drive length. Neither appears in the row report.

It is not recorded. Use PainSled or BoatCoach. They do record these data.
