foot straps

Post by 6footminnow » November 12th, 2018, 2:39 pm

hmm ok , so last night i was having a look through the other tips , advice on using the erg.

i thought i had been using the rower properly until i went over some of the reading .

I have pretty big feet, size 14 ( UK size ) and fairly long legs ,, well normal to me  .. but i have had the saying "" you'r all legs like a foal "" said several times to me before.

Until last night i had been using the foot plates all the way down to the gaps bellow 1 , making the strap placement across the centre of the foot between the ankle and toes . around the Metatasal bone / Cuneiform bone areas
this was based on several videos i had seen before i had ordered the rower , but reading last night it seems i should have the strap over the top of the ball of the foot ? ,

is that correct ?

Easy rule of thumb is ankle bone level with the monorail and strap across the bend in your shoes.

I've always been told to strap in at the widest part of my foot - usually where the laces start (not where they're tied).

meh no thumbs up smilies ..

but thanks to Citroen and UK,,

moved the foot plates , so straps were at the starts of laces , and my ankles level with monorail ..
and a BIG improvement INSTANTLY , no rubbing on foot , no strain in back of ankles .
though the foot plates are only JUST big enough because they are only one set of holes away from maxing out.

also able to improve my drive length , not 100% by how much because i set it up for darts this evening and was not aware that the app did not track it . but the whole movement felt cleaner.
